Embrace The Korean

Hello there all you kind people ^.^ You may have noticed that I have changed the blog name from 'scratchthatname' to something that suits this blog a little better. 'Embracethekorean' is the new blog name, and I have to admit that I like this one much better than the previous one. You have no idea how long it took  me to come up with this name, my creativity is to be honest not exactly the best. School has started in Norway, and I might be busy with school work the following weeks so I might not get to update once a week as I promised. I know that I am not the best when it comes to posting regularly in the first place without school work, so just imagine how little I would post when school has started.  But even thought school has come to destroy everything, I will try my best to find time and write. Aigoo (Korean: 아이고 / 아이구 ): Usually used by older people when they find things difficult. "Aigoo" can be used by anyone when they find themselves in frustrating situations. The Korean equivalent of "aw man" or "geez" in English. Ajusshi/ Ajeossi (Korean:  아저씨 ): Literally means 'uncle', but is used in polite conversation to refer to a man who is older than you, and a person you don't know well. Women in their 30's may feel offended when called 'Ajumma'.  Babo (Korean:  바보 ):  Korean word meaning 'silly' or 'idiot', depending on the intensity. Friends usually use 'babo' in a more light-hearted tone toward each other.  Chaebol (Korean: 재벌 ): 'Chae' meaning "wealth or property" and 'bol' meaning "faction or clan".

Black Ocean: When a large group of fans deliberately turn of their light sticks to show hate towards the performing K-pop idols/idol on stage. Fan ser vice:  Used to describe one or several act(s) an idol/idol group intentionally does to please fans. Originates from the ani me and manga fandom, but is also used in other fandoms. Examples of 'fan service' includes; skinship between members, shower scenes (k-drama) and showing off abs.  Hallyu (Korean:  한류 ) : Means 'Korean wave'. 'Hallyu Star' is usually used to describe a popular Korean idol in western countries, but which is not so popular in Korea or Asia. The 'Korean Wave' is all about increased interest worldwide in Korean culture (K-pop and K-dramas) and tradition.  Hwaiting (Korean: 화이팅 ) : The Korean pronunciation of the English word 'fighting'.
