Fan service: Used to describe one or several act(s) an idol/idol group intentionally does to please fans. Originates from the anime and manga fandom, but is also used in other fandoms. Examples of 'fan service' includes; skinship between members, shower scenes (k-drama) and showing off abs.
Hallyu (Korean: 한류): Means 'Korean wave'. 'Hallyu Star' is usually used to describe a popular Korean idol in western countries, but which is not so popular in Korea or Asia. The 'Korean Wave' is all about increased interest worldwide in Korean culture (K-pop and K-dramas) and tradition.
Hwaiting (Korean: 화이팅): The Korean pronunciation of the English word 'fighting'. Used as a motivational chant, and means 'You can do it'.

Netizen: Originally comes from the combination of the two words; 'Internet' + 'Citizen'. Used to describe the anonymous online fan community.
Oppa (Korean:오빠): Korean word that means 'older brother'. Used by females towards an older male not far from their age range. Can also be used in a romantic context to show affection towards an older male that does not have relation to the girl.
Rookie: A newcomer group or actor that recently debuted. This title drops when the group or actor achieves a certain level of success in the industry.
Selca (Korean: 셀카): Originally comes from the combination of the two words; 'Self' + 'Camera'. The Korean word that is equal to the English word 'Selfie'.
Shipping: Originally comes from the English word 'relationship'. Used by fans and describes the act of putting two idols together as a couple. Fans usually comes up with 'shipping names', which combines the names of the two idols they ship.
